Senior Shia Cleric urged Iran, Iraq to boost  bilateral ties

Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi, a senior Iraqi cleric, urged Iran and Iraq to boost ties in security as well as economic areas saying, "All countries in the region must realize the importance of fighting against terrorism,"

Hawzah News Agency (Najaf, Iraq) – Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi, a senior Shia cleric, received Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the Chairman for the Committee of Foreign Policy and National Security of the Iranian Parliament along with a delegation on Wednesday, January 18, in the Iraqi city of Najaf.

 

During the meeting, the Iraqi source of emulation urged both countries of Iran and Iraq to boost their bilateral ties in different areas including security and economic fields, "All countries in the region must realize the importance of fighting against terrorism since it is the enemy of Islam; Terrorists destroy everything, That's why the regional countries need to step up and come up with a solution to uproot them from the Middle East." The cleric added.

 

At the end of the meeting, Alaeddin Boroujerdi thanked the senior cleric for his warm welcome and wise guidelines.
